Chalet Verjusis in an excellant and central location. Modern facilities with living area upon upper floor offering panoramic views across the Morzine ski area. The chalet owner Ian was present during our stay and acted as a brilliant and helpful host both on and off the slopes. The adjacant cafe chaud is agreat location for apres ski with a lively and friendly atmosphere. Food superb with thanks to both Ian and Sophie. Chris

| | Date: | Mon 16 Mar 2009 10:07:58 GMT | | Subject: | Solo Week at Chalet Verjus in Morzine | | | I would highly recommend Chalet Verjus as an ideal base for the Morzine/Portes du Soleil ski area. The chalet is situated in the centra of Morzine, ideally place for the lifts and close to shops, restaurants and bars (particularly Café Chaud).
I recently spent a very memorable week in the resort, arranged through PistePals (thanks to Sarah Saunders), and although none of the group had ever met before we soon became the best of friends. Overall my personal experience of the week was: excellent snow, good food, brilliant company and great fun.
I would also like to thank Ian for making us so welcome and sharing Chalet Verjus and the secrets of Cafe Chaud with us. Ian also took the trouble to guide the group around the Morzine and Les Gets areas (Mont Chery in Les Gets is a great under used gem of a ski area) and arranged a guide for the first days skiing into the Swiss area of the Portes du Soleil.
Thanks are also due to Sophie for the magic worked in the kitchen, some great food produced, Ian also did his bit in the kitchen with some wholesome and hearty food (particularly his Tartiflette).
This was definately one of the best weeks skiing I have experienced (I normally ski 3 weeks each year) and will definately return to Chalet Verjus in 2010.

| | Date: | Sat 14 Mar 2009 21:13:43 GMT | | Subject: | Solo week, Chalet Verjus | | | Hi there
What a great week I have had from the moment I arrived Ian was such a great host. When I arrived I did not know what to expect, what everybody was going to be like age etc.
The chalet was setback in a side street in the heart of morzine. The chalet looks like it has just been built with that fresh cut look of the pine.
From the main living area you have fantastic views from the large glass frontage which is great when the night sking is on. You can watch everything and in the morning the sun rises and you have views of the mountains with the sun beaming across, when it is not snowing.
For the last two nights we had the best cook in the world Sophie, who cooked us up food for more than what I expected. What she cooked for us is something I would expect from the Savoy hotel and she was so friendly. I would say we did feel like VIPS from the way we were treated.

Anne from a previous trip has very neatly summarised the stay. Ian was a wonderful host, and the chalet is definitely someplace I will recommend to friends. The whole experience was so far removed from the usual package trip and by the last few days, we were really starting to feel almost a part of the community in Morzine - saying hello to seasonaires on the street and on the piste, bumping into people we knew from Cafe Chaud, and feeling less and less like tourists every day. Many thanks to all who popped in and out of Chalet Verjus, Ian, Sophie and Becky in particular and hopefully I'll see you all again next year.

| | Date: | Fri 06 Mar 2009 16:23:04 GMT | | Subject: | Loved the pistepals solo week in Morzine! | | | Hello,
Thought I’d leave some feedback for those of you lucky enough to have their skiing holiday coming up still, or if you are contemplating to go to Morzine %26 stay at Chalet Verjus in the future...
I’ve been on one of the pistepals solo holidays at Chalet Verjus last week and had the most fantastic week in the snow ever! Not only were the snow conditions some of the best I’ve ever experienced, but the Morzine %26 Porte du Soleil ski area is amazing to explore %26 it’s impossible to get bored of it! Definitely not in the space of a few weeks.
The chalet is perfectly located in the heart of Morzine, even better it’s right next to Cafe Chaud, and for those of you into your après-skiing that place is well worth a visit. I think we managed to go there pretty much every night. Even if it was chocker-full, we still got in because we were the neighbours and Ian’s guests so it seems that we always got VIP treatment! Where else in a ski resort would they allow the punters to run up a bar-tab?!
Chalet Verjus is brand-new, great layout and has a very relaxed %26 homely feel to it. A lot of this is probably because the owner Ian is brilliant and is quite clearly not in it for the money. He went out of his way to help us throughout the week, in my case even before departure, had nifty little ways to save us cash, was always there to offer handy advice, took us skiing, and après-skiing. Ian loves his food and we loved his cooking. Apart from the dinners, the breakfasts were fantastic and I really liked the set-up of not eating in the chalet every night. Ian let us choose which night we wanted him or chef Sophie to cook for us, the other nights we were free to go out %26 sample local cuisine or even stay in and cook ourselves.
Ideal chalet %26 resort for the solo weeks, but also great for a group of people to rent out the place. I’ll definitely be back! (said in my best German accent)
Anne
PS: I would like to add that Ian looks absolutely great dressed up in a bin-bag! Sorry Ian, I had to throw in this last comment to proof that I’ve not been paid to write all this praise. Maybe some other nasty guest will add a link to all these incriminating pictures one day ;-)

I had an awesome time and I'm sure everyone else did too. It was very good of you to arrange Chaltet Timaris for two extra nights and also liaise with the chap who runs it to arrange the pick-up etc. If I find myself in the Northwest anytime soon I'll let you know and you can take me for a spin in the microlight. I'm back to work tomorrow having just spent a few days down in Alicante. Thanks and hope to see you next season. Jules

well I have to say that despite breaking my wrist snowboarding within the first few days, this was still one best solo snow holidays I have been on.
As mentioned above the snow conditions were great, the chalet was new and clean, and the host Ian was helpful with local advice and tips.
Would do it again.

| | Date: | Wed 18 Feb 2009 22:48:26 GMT | | Subject: | Solo Ski Week | | | Had a great time at my 'Solo Ski' week at Chalet Verjus. The chalet is very nice, new and warm. Ian is a great host providing a great breakfast and evening meals, helping out with any local advice. It's next door to Cafe Chaud for apres ski happy hour, close to town and minutes walk away from the chair lifts.
The area has a great variety of slopes so you won't get bored and we had good weather and plenty of fresh powder. Would definitely go back again next year!!!
